As soon as you arrive, you’ll realise that “Le Lavande” is different from other holiday homes. It’s a special place, where eco-friendly technology has been used to create somewhere unique, a place for environmentally-aware nature lovers.
As soon as you arrive you can admire the beautiful 100 square metre garden characterised by the presence of scented lavender bushes, which give the name its structure, and rose hedges.
Green areas are distributed all over the garden, with tall pine trees, a beautiful fir tree, the typical local cypress trees and a holm oak wood, which create somewhere well-ventilated and shady to eat, for guests to enjoy all year round but especially during hotter weather. In this space in contact with nature, reserved for use by the structure’s guests, you can enjoy relaxing walks and delightful breaks.
If you walk right to the end of the garden, you’ll come to a fence beyond which the view of the Tuscany countryside is absolutely breath-taking. Here, you can admire the incredible panorama that awaits you: the gently rolling Chianti hills covered with vineyards, olive groves and woods, the perfect place to forget the chaos of life in the city.
Our structure comprises eight rooms, divided into four different apartments.
From the external garden you can easily reach the former haybarn, a farm building dating back to the 19th century which we have completely refurbished and renovated to create three apartments with a total of six rooms, independent bathrooms, with independent entrances and kitchen.
Just five metres from the former haybarn stands the main house, a typical Tuscan farmhouse which offers another apartment, with two bathrooms and bathroom and kitchen.
The flats are equipped with every comfort and reflect the expectations of those who want to experience a relaxing holiday in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. Just so you know, the rooms are named after some stray dogs that the owner of the structure has adopted over the years.
Our garden also offers access to the bioclimatic greenhouse.
This isn’t just your average old greenhouse, where we grow plants, but a sought of “outdoor living room”, a place where us humans can completely relax and rest!
Thanks to the glass walls and strategic position. The greenhouse offers our guests a breath-taking view of the Tuscan hills and landscape.
This space too, like the rest of the structure, is eco-friendly: the extra heat insulation glass and the particular construction of the structure absorb warmth during the hottest hours and gradually release it when the temperature cools down, heating not only the greenhouse but also the adjacent structures. This type of construction makes it the perfectly enjoyable environment in both summer and winter.
The particularity of our holiday home lies in the complete absence of pollution emitted and in its energy savings.
Thanks to our commitment, our knowledge and the use of high technology we have succeeded in making our buildings self-sufficient in terms of energy, which translates into zero pollution, zero CO2 emissions and zero use of fossil-fuel energy.
We have made lots of ecological adjustments within our structure to show you how much we care about the environment and how important our daily commitment to saving our planet is: we recycle over 80% of our waste, use low-e light bulbs, class A electrical appliances and air conditioning, dual flush toilets, sensor-operated lighting and eco-friendly cleaning products, and we recover rainwater to irrigate the garden (accumulating over 70,000 litres of water).

How did we create a structure powered exclusively from renewable sources?
First of all, we insulated the buildings, so that we could minimise heat dispersion. Then we built our highly-efficient aerothermal heat pump system which uses 80% renewable sources, taking the heat from the air outside even when the outdoor temperature falls to -20°C. This means that heating in winter, air-conditioning in summer and hot water are all produced using energy from the air outside. Lastly, to supply electricity to all the buildings, we have installed powerful photovoltaic panels which transform solar energy into electricity.
